1. How does 23:50-56 fulfill Isaiah's prophecy in Is 53:9? What is significant about this? Jesus fulfils OT prophecy. Jesus' humiliation ends with death. Thereafter he is exalted (in the spices (Jn 19:39) and the tomb. 2. What did the women find when they went to Jesus' tomb at down on Sunday (24:2-8)? At least 5 women were present (24:10) The stone was rolled away The body was gone Two men were there, 3. What did the "men" say to the women at the tomb (24:5-7)? They announced the Resurrection and reminded them of Jesus' words. 4. How did the apostles respond to the women's report? With incredulity. They were not superstitious peasants who were primed to believe what they wished to be true. Only Peter ran ahead. His heart would have been trying to be close to the Lord that he denied.
